Barney, Christmas och resten av teamet möter Conrad Stonebanks, som för många år sedan var med och grundade The Expendables med Barney. Stonebanks blev därefter en hänsynslös vapenhandlare som Barney var tvungen att döda, det gick dock inte som han tänkt sig. Stonebanks, som lurade döden, gör nu allt för att avsluta The Expendables. Barney beslutar att han måste bekämpa gammalt blod med nytt och tar in en ny era av Expendables-medlemmar som är yngre, snabbare och experter på ny teknik. Det senaste uppdraget blir en hård sammandrabbning av klassisk old-school-stil kontra högteknologi i Expendables mest personliga strid hittills.
